NOT surprising to me...

...that I tested as 'left brained'. I can (and do) take just about ANY creative endeavor and turn it into a major undertaking for the purpose of symmetry, accuracy, balance, and perfection--it's a wonder that I really do enjoy sewing for myself, but explains why I have so many unfinished scrapbook pages. Sigh... :-)

Which Side Do You Use?

You responded as a right brained person to 4 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 14 questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use your left brain the most.

The summary briefly describes your dominance type. Remember, this only represents half of the picture. After you read the description, click on the link at the bottom of the page to find out how to use this information to improve your study strategies. Some of the traits associated with the left side of the brain are listed in the table. Not all of the traits will apply to you. Remember, we use both side of our brain, but your left sides gets the most exercise.

Linear: Processing information from part to whole; in a straight forward logical progression.

Sequential: Processing information in order from first to last.

Symbolic: Processes symbols an pictures; likes to use letters, words and mathematical symbols.

Logical: Processes information piece by piece using logic to solve a problem.

Verbal: Processes thoughts and ideas with words.

Reality-Based: Processes information based on reality; focuses on rules and regulations

(You can do the test here, http://brain.web-us.com/brain/braindominance.htm)

This was an interesting test for me. I tested 10 questions as a right brain and 8 questions as a left brain. On several of the answers though, I wanted a "it depends" category. Not sure what that says. Thanks for a fun link.

I want you to know that I love this post as well as this blog. I want you to know it has been a blessing as it has challenged my theology. Thank you and I will be back as I have added you to my favorites.
God bless.

preacherman: Thanks for stopping by and for your words of encouragement!

While my main goal/desire is to challenge sisters-in-Christ to consider and wrestle with their theology, brothers are certainly welcome to walk along with us! Blessings!

Wow - I think I've changed a lot over the years since our college days, Connie! I tested out 'left' brained at a ration of 10:8 the first time. Like Elle, I thought a couple of ?'s needed the "It depends" option. So, I decided to re-take it and be very thoughtfully and brutally honest, (thinking I'd end up back the way I 'was') and I STILL ended up a 'leftie' with an even bigger spread: 11-7! :-0

Now, to put this in perspective, I was totally an airhead in college...(yes, that hysterical laughter is Connie & John, saying 'Whaaaaaat?") I was really spacey, and REALLY struggled with any logical/sequential endeavors. My academic college grade point avg. was terrible. But put me in the fine arts, and I was right at home. I needed to see/perceive the 'whole' concept, so I could understand how the parts worked to get there. (A world of thanks to Carrie P., who made math make total sense to me back then by explaining the whole-to- parts relationship.)

And yet, today, it's the daily discovery of the beauty in how both creation and its created 'parts' consistently and efficiently point to the "whole" Creator God that I worship. I'm talking from nanotechnology to the galaxies - all the 'new' knowledge only points back to the 'old' Truth, and makes it richer and more relevant. I really do see God in the details today. I worship the 'whole' God much more deeply because of the "parts" He has revealed for me (as I am able to process them). This is just astounding to me at the present, because it is such a huge change from the person I always considered myself to be!

Well - "Ditto" Elle's sentiment: this was a neat link, and really helped me tonight as I struggle in teaching my "right" brained son. It sure explained why we often experience the inability to communicate efficiently with each other. Hmmm - and I thought he was just being a stubborn teenager. ;*) Love, Karen
