Isn't it interesting that the three (fatal) reasons given in Genesis 3:6 for Eve's decision to take and eat the fruit are clearly represented in the warning given in 1 John 2:16,
1) the tree was good for food = lust of the flesh
2) it was a delight to the eyes = lust of the eyes
3) the tree was desirable to make one wise = boastful pride of life
