Heard in the Bible Belt...

..."our Saturday evening service is for those who want Sunday all to yourself...early Sunday service so you can have the rest of Sunday for yourself..."

I heard this advertisement recently on one of our local Xian radio stations--this church apparently wants to help people get church 'out of the way' so they can get on with their life and really enjoy it.

This is a classic example of 'man-centered' thinking and practice--no regard for pleasing God through our sacrifice of worship and praise.

Sigh. . .

I've heard of churches that do that.

That's sad. Kind of like the super-bowl party in lieu of regular services.

The best Sundays I've had have been the ones when I spent nearly ALL DAY in fellowship with God's people!!!!!!!!! :-) Trying to "get church out of the way" is such a sad concept. We can't grow together if we're only "together" for an hour and a half once a week!

I love you, Connie!
