A Xian Woman's Credo

As I said earlier this week, I agree with my friend Lisa at Deo Volente who said, "Everything I have written has likely been said a whole lot better by someone else...". Today I'd like to share with you something that has definitely been said better by someone other than me--just for the record, you'll find a lot of that posted here!

I'd like to kick-off my Friday series, Radically Feminine, with a link to a credo composed by Rebecca Jones. "My Credo as a Christian Woman" is posted here at The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood website.

I find it refreshing to see how a Xian woman has composed a sort of "personal statement of faith" that speaks to her role and responsibilities in light of Scripture. I also find great encouragement in the little "footnote" she added at the very end where she says,

"...Someone once asked, "Where are the Christian women willing to stand up and speak out on these issues? If men speak of them, no one will listen." The answer, of course, is that the Christian women are busy taking seriously the Scriptural injunction to be "busy at home," and so do not often have a chance to speak up..."

Like Rebecca, we may not have opportunities to share our thoughts in a popular and/or public forum, but through our obedience and submission God does use us in our own circles of influence--for His glory.
