Like a river glorious
Is God's perfect peace,
Over all victorious
In its bright increase;
Perfect, yet it floweth
Fuller ev'ry day,
Perfect, yet it groweth
Deeper all the way.
Stayed upon Jehovah,
Hearts are fully blest,
Finding, as he promised,
Perfect peace and rest.
Hidden in the hollow
Of his blessed hand,
Never foe can follow,
Never traitor stand;
Not a surge of worry,
Not a shade of care,
Not a blast of hurry
Touch the spirit there.
Ev'ry joy or trial
Falleth from above,
Traced upon our dial
By the Sun of Love.
We may trust him fully
All for us to do;
They who trust him wholly
Find him wholly true.

Amen, Connie! I hope that I see even more of His faithfulness and feel more of the peace He gives throughout the many years left in my life. I feel the struggle right now that leads me to believe that there is so much life left to live and I should seek to follow my own dreams, while I know that God has me here and that being content and letting Him fill me and use me is far greater than any accomplishment I could pursue.
marcian: You have highlighted one of the many reasons I still treasure many of the 'old' traditional hymns--meaty content that prompts us to THINK on Him and His purposes rather than on ourselves and our plans! :-)
There are still some of the 'new' ones I enjoy, but they seem so far and few between.
